Amigo Kibirige
Wanted/Declared deceased DRC/Uganda Born in Uganda/Masaka
Details & alleged facts
Among the senior commanders of the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), Amigo Kibirige is a Ugandan national. He is often presented as one of the main leaders of the Mughalika camp (read Mwalika) in the Graben area of Beni territory. Mwalika is one of the most important ADF camps, serving as a transit point for new recruits heading to the ADF maquis from abroad and distant Congolese settlements to the ADF sanctuaries based in the Beni, Lubero and Ituri regions. Several sources within the Congolese security services claim that Amigo was killed during fighting led by the Congolese armed forces in 2020. However, Factualité Afrique has not formally obtained complete information certifying this death and has noted the inclusion of Amigo Kibirige on international sanctions lists during the periods following the announcement of his neutralisation by the FARDC.
